Thursday, Oct 23:

The Ranger defense was dominant yet again as they turned in another shutout performance.  The charge was led by the familiar faces in the front seven.  Brandon Whitford made a nice tackle to prevent a long run to the outside and Paul Espinosa had a great pass deflection on a deep route.  “Anthon” Bresina was having a great game until he went out with an arm injury after delivering a huge hit on the sideline into the moat that defends the home bench.  The Rangers got on the board first in the 1st quarter when the defense came up with a safety on Hightower’s second drive of the game after Mike Seitz pinned them deep in their own territory after a beautifully executed quick kick.  The Rangers were then able to tack on 7 more points in the 2nd quarter when “Charles in Charge” Carroll scored untouched from 11 yards out on a lead play allowing the Rangers to go into half up 9-0.  In the 3rd quarter with the Hurricanes threatening at our own 12 yard line “Bad Brad” Fontana came up with a huge interception and runback to help preserve the shutout.  Mike Seitz had a good game directing the offense and punting as the Rangers were able to hold on to the 9-0 victory against a very game Hightower squad.
