JV White

Thursday, Oct 9:

• JV White beat Hightower 21-6 !

The JV white team jumped out to a very early 14-0 lead on 2 drives of 3 plays and 1 play, both capped off by Charlie Carroll touchdown runs.  However, credit must go to the Hightower defense as they clamped down as the game went on and made moving the football difficult for the Rangers.  Hightower scored late in the 4^th quarter to cut the lead down to 14-6 but Charlie Carroll iced the game with a 7-yard touchdown run in the closing minutes.  The Ranger defense was dominant again forcing an incredible 6 turnovers including 2 interceptions by Dominique Williams, 1 interception by Paul Espinosa, 1 interception by Anthony Bresina, and a fumble recovery by Connor Hervieux.  Steven Mason recovered an onside kick and Sean Murphy was a perfect 3-for-3 on extra points. 

JV Blue

Thursday, Oct 9:

  Max Melvan contributed on runs of 30 and 10 yds. And Jacolby Berry scored from 9yds out for a TD and Clements took a 7-0 lead early in the 2^nd qtr.  Jacolby Berry intercepted a pass and the offense, led by Ethan Caudillo drove the ball to the end zone for a second score by Max Melvan with a run from 6yds out.  Dan Debord added the kick and the score was now 14-0.  Hightower breaks a long run and scored two plays later.  The point after was stopped by Cameron McClendon and the score was 14-6.  Hightower answers again with a 30 yds score but fails to complete the point after and the halftime score is 14-12.  Both defenses play well in the 3^rd qtr. And neither team could get on the board.  The 4th started off the same until Hightower ran a punt back for a touchdown with 2:07 left in the game to take a 14-18 lead.   The Rangers made some mistakes on offense but a big catch by Jalen Dykes on a 4^th and 17 gave the Rangers a first down and he broke a tackle and took the ball to the Hightower 4yd line.  With :33 left in the game, Ethan Caudillo was able to get a surge by the offensive line and score from 1 yd out to seal the victory.  Final Clements 21 – Hightower 18.
